SMI and the Italian Connection!

 

Hi, my name is Grant Opland and I am the Director of U.S. Student Recruitment for an incredible bible college located in northern Italy. My wife and I have lived and served within the Inland Northwest for 25 years and still live a few miles north of Spokane.

 

Over the years, I have had a relationship with several of the leaders at Cocollalla Bible Camp and was recently made aware of the SMI youth leadership ministry. Saints Bible Institute has a similar passion to train up young people and we felt it important to provide an opportunity for SMI young people a chance to study the bible and missions in Italy as an extension of what they are already doing within the SMI program.

 

We are offering scholarships to SMI students who qualify within the requirements established by the SMI program as one way to help ease the financial pressures.

 

Saints Bible Institute, an evangelical “semester abroad” program in Italy, exists to provide a life-immersion experience for Christian students. Similar to the SMI youth leadership program of Cocollalla Bible Camp, our commitment is to transmit a biblical view of God, a passion for the lost, and a love for the church—all in the context of a practical missions experience involving church-planting and evangelism.

 

The teaching faculty is comprised of bible professors and missionaries from around the world. In addition to growing spiritually, many students transfer their SBI credits into a growing number of U.S. bible colleges to complete a bible or ministry degree! While representing a breadth of teaching personalities and affiliations, SBI shares a core set of evangelical beliefs that are outlined in our doctrinal statement.

 

Located just one hour northeast of Venice, Italy – students are inspired by living in a region where the early church experienced its beginnings and several of the New Testament books were written.
